Sanjay Gupta was on the brink of cracking a deal with author Vikas Swarup to make a film on Q and A. But the rights of the book were already sold to Boyle. "I missed a hair's breadth," said Gupta. Gupta added, "I had read the book in 2005 and wanted to make the film on it. I wanted Homi Adjania, the maker of BEING CYRUS, to direct it.We had met Vikas Swarup.
